Timing the New Arctic Invasion

Frigid air is already gripping much of the eastern two-thirds of the nation,but an even worse arctic blast is plunging down from Canada. This fresh, brutalcold will encompass every place east of the Rocky Mountains. Residents will not only have to endure frigidactual temperatures with this cold blast, but also even colder AccuWeather.comRealFeel® temperatures. Dangerously cold RealFeels of 30 to 40° belowzero will be recorded across the northern Plains today into Friday.

Be sure to dress warmly during the upcoming arctic invasion. Prolonged exposureto the cold could lead to frostbite or potentially deadly hypothermia. Theextreme cold set to grip the northern Plains may cause frostbite to develop inless than 10 minutes.

Another word of advise for motorists. Be sure you have more than a quarter of atank of gas before you park your car at the night, as freezing could then keepthe car from starting in the morning.
