Dick Vitale and John Feinstein think the Gophers are only the 17th best men's basketball team in the country.
How does Upload know this?
Well, we kind of wasted some time today looking through a website sent our way that tells you, among other things, where each of the 65 voters in the Associated Press men's basketball poll ranked each team.
We also know that Dick Weiss of the New York Daily News ranked the Gophers 10th, higher than any of the other voters, and that Dave Borges of the New Haven Register was the only voter who didn't include Minnesota at all. (Do not send Borges nastygrams saying that you read about him here, OK? He's entitled to his opinion.)
The data is compiled by Pollspeak.com, which describes itself as follows: "As fans of college sports, we put a lot of faith in the polls and the people who vote in them. It's kind of like our government; where we elect representatives to make day to day decisions for us…except that we don't get to elect our pollster representatives, and most people we know get angrier at poll voters than any given member of Congress. So Pollspeak was started to keep an eye on the polls (both human and computer) and report back to the people."
That's as much as we're going to tell you. It's up to you to decide how deeply you want to dig into their ratings.
