December 29, 2009 at 8:25PM

There has been a lot of snow in the Northeast come the new year, but don't hitthe panic button yet. The worst part of that storm will be in the north, andthe weather in New York City won't be nearly as bad as it could be.Currently, the forecast for Times Square this New Year's Eve is for a mix ofrain and wet snow with a temperature of 35 degrees. The wind will be east tonortheast at 10 to 20 mph.

If the storm really gets going in a hurry, there could be a couple of inches ofsnow very late Thursday night and Friday morning, but currently we don'tbelieve there will be any significant accumulation during New Year's Eve (6p.m. - midnight).
