The death of Philando Castile

July 6, 2016: Philando Castile is shot and killed by St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights.

July 7: Demonstrations move from the scene of the shooting to Gov. Mark Dayton's residence, where protesters remain.

July 14: Castile's funeral in St. Paul draws thousands of mourners.

Nov. 16: Yanez is charged with three felonies: second-degree manslaughter and two counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm.

June 5: A jury is selected and the trial begins.

June 12: Jury deliberations begin and span 29 hours over five days.

June 16: Officer Jeronimo Yanez found not guilty on all counts.
