Time to recycle thee, O Christmas tree

Six local compost sites and public works facilities offer holiday tree recycling for Washington County residents. Tree stands, plastic bags, tinsel, wire, lights and all other decorations should be removed before drop-off. The county said that some private waste haulers, cities and townships also accept holiday trees.

Composting Concepts (open to all county residents)

Dates: Jan. 5 and Jan. 12

Hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost: $5 per tree
