Timberwolves guard Terrence Shannon Jr. will miss at least two weeks because of another injury to his foot, the team announced Saturday.

Shannon exited Thursday night’s overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets in the third quarter because of left foot soreness, and he was seen limping off to the locker room at Ball Arena.

The team said before Saturday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets that a magnetic resonance imaging exam taken at Mayo Clinic by Dr. Jeff Payne revealed Shannon had a left foot abductor hallucis strain and will be reevaluated in two weeks.

It’s the second time Shannon has been sidelined by an injury to his left foot this season. He missed nine games in November because of a left foot fifth metatarsal bone bruise. He also missed time last season because of an injury to his right foot.

The No. 27 overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Illinois is averaging 4.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in 12.8 minutes off the bench in 22 games this season, all off the bench.

Brooklyn got to the basket early and often against a Wolves team that didn’t step up at either end of the floor.
