The Timberwolves are adding two players to their roster ahead of training camp who will fight for spots.
Johnny Juzang will get a nonguaranteed free-agent contract, a source confirmed Friday. The 6-5 shooting guard played the past three seasons for the Utah Jazz; he played in 64 games last season, averaging 8.9 points and 19.8 minutes per game. He was waived on June 30.
Juzang will compete for a roster spot in training camp, a source said.
The 24-year-old Los Angeles native played college basketball at Kentucky and UCLA and was signed by the Jazz as an undrafted free agent in 2022.
Enrique Freeman will come to the Wolves on a two-way deal, a source confirmed.
The 6-7 forward was a second-round pick (50th overall) by the Indiana Pacers out of Akron in 2024, where he played five seasons. In his fifth college season, he averaged 18.6 points and 12.8 rebounds and was named MAC Player of the Year. Freeman, 25, played in 22 games for the Pacers last season.
The Wolves now have their three two-way slots occupied (Jesse Edwards and Rocco Zikarsky are the other two), but the Wolves can always waive a two-way player in advance of signing someone else to a two-way contract.
The Wolves still have two guaranteed roster spots ahead of training camp, which opens in late September. They will have to fill one of those before the season.
