Sound the alarm: Tim Hortons has landed in Dinkytown.

The Canadian coffee-and-doughnuts chain with the cult following (for the essential what-the-heck-is-Tim Hortons guide, go here) has launched its second Twin Cities outlet (the first is at Mall of America), this time appealing to the near-insatiable college-campus hunger for caffeine and deep-fried dough.

It's located two doors down (319 14th Av. SE.) from the neighborhood's other doughnut shop, year-old Sssdude-Nutz.

Not unlike Starbucks setting up shop next door to the mom-and-pop coffeehouse, right? Tim Hortons operates more than 3,000 outlets across Canada.
