Cakester goes vanilla Remember Oreo Cakesters, new last fall? Picture a slightly enlarged Oreo, with a thinnish puff of dark chocolate cake instead of each of the two cookies in the sandwich.

Well, now there are Nilla Cakesters: Picture a sandwich cookie made with two slightly enlarged Nilla wafers (there is no such cookie, but maybe there should be), and now imagine thinnish puffs of yellow cake instead of the Nillas. Oddly, the two-packs of Nilla Cakesters (six two-packs in a box) weigh only 1.76 ounces, instead of the 2-ounce two-pack of Oreo Cakesters. That would pretty much account for the two-pack of Nilla cakesters coming in at 10 grams of fat and 220 calories, compared with the 12 grams of fat and 250 calories in the Oreo cakesters.

Because the not-quite-worth-mentioning items are taking over his desk, Mr. Tidbit today briefly lowers his standards and presents quick glances at a few things just below his usual threshold. (It's not a high threshold anyway: Note that the Nilla Cakesters item was above it.)

• New in Dole's line of refrigerated 100 percent juices: Piña Colada. (That's "Piña Colada flavored blend of four juices from concentrate with other natural flavors and ingredients." • Keebler has added to its line of caramel-filled, peanut butter-filled and mint creme-filled Fudge Shoppe cookies new fudge-filled Fudge Shoppe cookies. (They're fudgey.)

• Pepperidge Farm has added two more to its umpteen kinds of chocolate chunk cookies: One is a crisp chocolate cookie with white and milk chocolate chunks; the other is the same, but as a soft cookie.
