Minnesota Gov.-elect Tim Walz and Lt. Gov.-elect Peggy Flanagan are inviting the public to a Jan. 12 party they're calling the "One Minnesota Inaugural Celebration."

The event, which will be held at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Minneapolis, will follow a Jan. 7 swearing-in ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul and public reception from 3-5 p.m. that afternoon at the state Capitol Rotunda.

The Minneapolis celebration is free, but attendees must reserve tickets online at oneminnesotainaugural.org. The event will run from 7:30 to 11 p.m. and will include live entertainment. The dress code is semiformal, according to the event website.

Additional community inaugural events for DFLers Walz and Flanagan are planned elsewhere around the state, but dates and specific locations have not yet been announced.
