Blake and Blaine skated to a 4-4 tie in a matchup featuring two top of the top girls' hockey teams in Class 2A on Thursday night at Fogerty Ice Arena.

With less than five minutes to play in the third period, Gabby Rosenthal knotted things up for the No. 8-ranked Bengals with her second goal of the game. It came after Sara McClanahan scored her second goal for No. 2 Blake.

At the end of the first period, Blaine was up 2-1 on goals from Rosenthal and Ramsey Parent. Sarah McClanahan scored a power-play goal for the Bears.

The score was tied 3-3 after the second. Lily Delianedis and Madeline Wethington scored in that period for Blake, Abby Jones for the Bengals.

Blake (21-1-2) will close out the regular season Friday with a game against No. 3 Centennial. Blaine (15-6-2) has two games remaining against Dodge County and Minnetonka.

Shakopee 2, Prior Lake 1: With 58 seconds left in the game Paige McNeil scored the game-winner for the Sabers. Danielle Hennen and Jamie Lindstrom assisted on the power-play goal. Leah Pavlish scored for the Lakers. Camryn Noess made 25 saves for Shakopee.

Minneapolis 5, St. Paul Blades 1: Erica Lieske led Minneapolis with two goals while Olivia Gaffney had a goal and an assist and Lilah Schulz made 23 saves. Anisa Smith scored the Blades' lone goal. Minneapolis had 44 shots on goal.

Lakeville North 4, Apple Valley 0: Kallie Schneider made 26 saves to lead the Panthers over the Eagles. Maggie Flaherty had two goals and an assist to lead the Panthers.

Lakeville South 8, Rosemount 0: Josie Saufferer scored a hat trick to lead the Cougars past the Irish. Two of her goals were shorthanded. Kyah Orr added a goal and two assists. Becca Macklin earned the shutout.

Boys' hockey

Edina 3, Wayzata 1: Lewis Crosby scored twice in the first period to lead the Hornets, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A over the Trojans. Demetrios Koumontzis also scored for Edina. Ryan Mulrenin scored for Wayzata in the third. The Hornets extended their winning streak to 12 games.

Minnetonka 7, Benilde-St. Margaret's 3: Bobby Brink and Joe Molenaar both had hat tricks to lead the Class 2A, No. 4 Skippers. Dylan Heiam also scored for Minnetonka and had two assists. Joe Collins scored twice for the Red Knights.

Spring Lake Park 4, Totino-Grace 3 (OT): Jack McKusick scored the game-winning goal for the Panthers off assists from Zach Zemlicka and Mickey Zeller. Spring Lake Park got out to a 3-0 lead in the second on goals from Cade McMahaon, Zeller and Zemlicka. The Eagles came back with three goals in the third period from Thomas Jerich, Branden Lee and Gavin LeMay.

Buffalo 2, Chanhassen 1: Devin Huebner scored his second goal of the game with 33 seconds left in regulation to beat the Storm. Tyler Davidson scored Chanhassen's goal.

Boys' basketball

North St. Paul 74, Forest Lake 71 (OT): The Polars outscored the Rangers 10-7 in overtime for the win. Goodnews Kpegol led the Polars with 25 points, followed by 20 points from Bryce Phillips. Cooper Berg and Steven Colon led Forest Lake with 17 points each.

Girls' basketball

Minneapolis South 73, Minneapolis Edison 32: The Hill sisters of South combined for 45 points. Morgan scored 28 and Jade 17 to lead the Tigers past the Tommies. Sierra Morrow scored 13 for Edison.
