Thursday (Only the Yankees) edition: Wha' Happened?

Good times.

Only the Yankees. Really. Only the Yankees would pinch hit for one of the most prolific home run hitters of all time, a guy who has made more money playing baseball than many middle-class neighborhoods will see collectively in a lifetime.

Only the Yankees could replace that guy with another veteran slugger who has made $60 million in a 271-home run career.

And only the Yankees would have that guy not only hit the game-tying home run in the ninth inning of a playoff game, but also see him come through later on with the game-winner in extra innings.

Can you imagine Kirby Puckett -- slumping through a 3-for-18 start to the 1991 World Series through five games -- getting lifted for a pinch hitter in Game 6?

Only the Yankees.

And this is why you hate the Yankees.
