Three people were recovering from their wounds after they were allegedly stabbed early Wednesday by two men who broke into a Richfield apartment.

Neighbors heard sounds of glass breaking and somebody yelling for help around 1:30 a.m. and called police to the building at 701 E. 77th Street. The caller also reported a possible gunshot, said Lt. Brad Drayna of the Richfield Police Department.

Officers believe that two men forced their way into the apartment and assaulted the victims who were treated at the scene for stab wounds and cuts from broken glass. The victims were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for additional care, Drayna said. Two of the victims were male residents of the apartment, ages 26 and 22. The third was a juvenile.

Their injuries did not appear life threatening, he said.

The suspects had fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators believe that one of the male suspects knew at least one of the victims and that it was an isolated incident, Drayna said.

"The Richfield Police Department does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community," Drayna said.

No one had been arrested as of late Wednesday morning.
