Bloomington has named three finalists, all local, to be interviewed for the job of police chief.
The three are Janee Harteau, Minneapolis police inspector; Michael Goldstein, the Plymouth police chief; and Jeffrey Potts, Bloomington police commander. Finalists will be interviewed early next month by City Manager Mark Bernhardson, who will choose the next chief.
The Bloomington chief runs a department with 148 employees and an annual operating budget of about $18 million.
Chief John Laux is retiring in October after six years. Bloomington officials hope to name a new chief by late October or early November.
