Three people were hospitalized with injuries from a domestic-related shooting in Anoka County on Saturday morning, including the suspect, whom authorities say is expected to survive a self-inflicted wound.

Officers were called to a home on the 8800 block of Lexington Avenue, in the small town of Lexington, just after 9 a.m. Saturday. A woman who lived at the residence and a Lino Lakes man, both 35, were transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with gunshot wounds. Their wounds are not life-threatening, said Anoka County Sheriff Cmdr. Paul Sommer.

The alleged assailant, identified as a 54-year-old Circle Pines man, is believed to be the ex-boyfriend of the female resident, Sommer said. About an hour after the shooting, police located the man inside a parked car in Blaine, suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

No one else was involved and there is no threat to the public, Sommer said.

Authorities are withholding the names of the victims and the suspect until family members can be notified. The case is being investigated by Centennial Lakes and Blaine police and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
