The Lake Minnetonka Association is already battling Eurasian milfoil in Lake Minnetonka. It wants to protect the lake from zebra mussels, spiny water flea, rusty crayfish, Asian carp and Brazilian elodea, which have been found in other Minnesota lakes. It is also concerned about hydrilla and viral hemorrhagic septicemia, which have been found in some Wisconsin lakes.
