Call the effects of last week's Springtime in Seattle weather The Good (a quick greening), the Bad (soggy basements) and the Funky.

The latter refers to the need for creativity in high school sports scheduling, which has led many rescheduled doubleheaders. Against different teams. At different locations.

"I've got one day where we play a game at [Bloomington] Kennedy and then hop on a bus and drive to play at Jefferson. Luckily, they're not too far apart," Rosemount softball coach Tiffany Rose said.

The reason? Postseason section tournaments are less than two weeks away. The boys' tennis state tournament starts on June 3, softball on June 5. There simply aren't many makeup dates left.

Here's a quick look at some of the more interesting high school events coming up this week:

BASEBALL

When St. Anthony revamped its athletic complex a few years back, it was smart enough add a quaint, throwback-style ballpark as its centerpiece. The Huskies consistently field one of the top Class 2A teams in Minnesota, and 2014 is no different. St. Anthony is 9-0 to start the season and ranked No. 2 in Class 2A. Friday, the Huskies play host to a doubleheader, facing Tri-Metro Conference foe St. Croix Lutheran at 4:30 p.m., followed by New Ulm (9-1), another traditional baseball power, at 7 p.m.

Wednesday: Eden Prairie at Minnetonka, 6:30 p.m.

Thursday: Woodbury at Cretin-Derham Hall, 4:15 p.m.

Friday: Belle Plaine at Norwood Young America, 5 p.m.

Saturday: Burnsville at Lakeville North, 4 p.m.

SOFTBALL

Monday: Bloomington Jefferson at Lakeville North, 4:15 p.m.

Tuesday: Lakeville North at Prior Lake, 4:15 p.m.

Saturday: Roseville at Forest Lake (2), 11 a.m.

BOYS' LACROSSE

Monday: White Bear Lake at East Ridge, 7 p.m.

Wednesday: Eden Prairie at Blake, 7:30 p.m.

Thursday: Chanhassen at Chaska, 7 p.m.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
