PGA: Tiger Woods can regain the top spot in the world from Rory McIlroy with a victory. McIlroy is skipping the event. ... In a wide-ranging news conference at Bay Hill on Wednesday, Arnold Palmer said he supported the proposed rule that would outlaw attaching the club against the body, which is the method used for long putters and belly putters.

LPGA: Defending champion Yani Tseng withdrew from the Kia Classic after missing her pro-am tee time on Wednesday morning. Last Sunday, Stacy Lewis ended Tseng's 109-week run at No. 1.
