A third man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court in the bloody baseball bat beating of Edwin Daniel at a St. Paul gas station.
Ibrahim M. Abdullahi, 22, of St. Paul, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting second-degree assault in the May attack. Prosecutor David Miller said the state had planned to add a charge of first-degree assault if the case went to trial. Prosecutors can ask for a sentence of 42 months at Abdullahi's sentencing on Nov. 23.
The same plea was offered to Ahmed F. Hirsi, 22, of St. Paul and will remain open for a week.
Zakaria A. Yusuf, 21, of St. Paul, and Abdiaziz Hirsi, 22, of Minneapolis, have pleaded guilty to the same charge. Yusuf was sentenced Sept. 28 to 180 days in jail and five years of probation. He received a stayed sentence of 21 months. Hirsi will be sentenced Thursday.
