'HEROES'Opening: Larry Ripp, left, James Michael Detmar and Patrick O'Brien portray three World War I veterans confined in a French sanatorium in this play, which won the 2006 Olivier Award for best comedy. They transcend their dreary existence by hatching a harebrained scheme to escape the clutches of their nun keeper. Tom Stoppard translated the script by French playwright Gerald Sibleyras. Detmar recently scorched the Minneapolis Theatre Garage in "Glengarry Glen Ross," and O'Brien -- who did lots of TV in Los Angeles -- was terrific in "American Buffalo" at Mixed Blood last year. Ripp is a 32-year veteran of Twin Cities theater. (7 p.m. Thu. and Sat.-next Sun. $12-$15. Ends March 10. Bryant-Lake Bowl, 810 W.
