In wave after wave, the Class of 2010 is marching off into the future. Over the weekend, the College of Liberal Arts, the University of Minnesota's largest college, held its graduation ceremony at Northrop Memorial Auditorium. Before the procession, three friends worked against the wind to make sure their tassels were on right —meaning, on the right side of the mortarboard.

Tyler Green of Milwaukee held his tassel in place while Jamie Wacholz of North Mankato helped Ingrid Scantlebury of West Fargo, N.D., get hers into position. After picking up their diplomas, they could move their tassels to the left.
