Boston's finest
All other reality series can move to the kiddie pool whenever producer Terence Wrong returns to the air with a new look at our police and medical services. "Boston EMS," which kicks off its second season, is proof that you don't need love triangles and patients holding surgeons hostage to create heart-pulsing drama. In the opener, the team responds to a stabbing and a suicide attempt.

That's Italian
Giada De Laurentiis may look compact enough to fit inside a pita, but she's a powerhouse personality that makes any kitchen extra-inviting. In the series "Giada in Italy," the chef returns to her homeland to whip up dishes that pay tribute to her family tree, which includes grandfather Dino De Laurentiis, the legendary producer of more than 500 films.
