Christmas is over and 2019 is in full swing. It's time to settle in for the meat of the winter sports season.
More than a month and a half of high school competition is left to enjoy before we reach the postseason. So sit back, savor the agreeable weather and pick out a game or two to check out this week.
Boys' basketball
• Tuesday: Minnehaha Academy at Eden Prairie, 7 p.m.; Minneapolis North vs. DeLaSalle, 7 p.m.
• Thursday: Park Center at Totino-Grace, 7 p.m.
• Friday: Saturday: Caledonia at Minneapolis North, 3 p.m.
Girls' basketball
• Tuesday: Park Center at Armstrong, 7 p.m.; Rosemount at Eastview, 7 p.m.
• Wednesday: Armstrong at Eden Prairie, 7 p.m.
• Friday: Farmington vs. Shakopee, 7 p.m.; Eden Prairie vs. Wayzata, 7 p.m.
Gymnastics
• Saturday: Lakeville North Invitational
After a weekend that featured two 16-team meets sponsored by the two officiating organizations comes another invitational with a top-flight 16-team field. Among the teams competing will be Detroit Lakes — the state's top-scoring team — as well as Cambridge-Isanti, East Ridge, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, Northfield, Stillwater and the two Lakeville schools. The meet begins at 9 a.m.

• Tuesday: Andover at Blake, 7:30 p.m.; Cretin-Derham Hall at St. Thomas Academy, 7 p.m.
• Thursday: White Bear Lake at Minnetonka, 7 p.m.; Andover at Maple Grove, 7 p.m.
• Saturday: Holy Family vs. Blaine (at Tria Rink, St. Paul), 3 p.m.; Hastings at Tartan, 3 p.m.; Minnetonka at Hermantown, 3 p.m.
