The Wednesday schedule

The Vikings will begin preparing for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions with a practice today at Winter Park

September 16, 2009 at 1:33PM

It will be a busy day at Winter Park as the Vikings begin on-field preparations for Sunday's game at Detroit.

We'll also get a chance to talk to coaches and players from both the Vikings and Lions. Jim Schwartz, the Lions' first-year coach, will speak to the Twin Cities media this morning on a conference call. Quarterback Matthew Stafford will speak to local reporters just after noon.

Following the Vikings practice, which will begin just after 12 p.m., coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre both will hold news conferences. Favre talks once during the week, as well as after games.

We'll have plenty of updates on the blog throughout the day and check Mark Craig's NFL blog as well for the latest. Also, Vikings wide receiver Sidney Rice has posted a blog. If you want to read it, click right here.
