The Wedding Singer

Opens Saturday: Back when they were moppish cuties, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore made sweet pals in the 1998 film. It was repackaged into a musical that played for 40 weeks on Broadway in 2006 — mostly surfing on the strength of 1980s nostalgia. Eric Morris and Elizabeth Anderson take on the roles of Robbie and Julia in an Old Log Theatre production, directed by R. Kent Knutson. In case you had forgotten, the story is about a wedding singer (Robbie) who charms a wedding banquet planner (Julia). Lots of other stuff happens, along with music by Matthew Sklar, whose score snagged a Tony nomination. If you remember hair gel, leggings and Reagan, this show is singing your tune. (7:30 p.m. Sat., 2 p.m. Sun., 1:30 p.m. Wed. Ends Feb. 20; Old Log, 5185 Meadville St., Excelsior; $20-$40. 952-474-5951 or oldlog.com)
