With the planet Jupiter visible in the 10 o'clock position and an approaching airplane in view, the moon was nearly full on Tuesday evening. Earth's shadow will darken part of the moon Wednesday morning in a lunar eclipse that will be visible from much of the globe. If the clouds block your view, don't fret: The eclipse is of the penumbral variety, and its effect is subtle.
