THE SENSER TRIAL

The players

Defendant: Amy Senser, 45, wife of former Vikings star Joe Senser.

Victim: Anousone Phanthavong, 38, a longtime chef at True Thai restaurant in Minneapolis.

Prosecutor: Assistant Hennepin County Attorney Deborah Russell, a 17-year veteran prosecutor in the Adult Prosecution Division. She has tried major felonies ranging from rape and robbery to murder.

Defense attorney: Eric Nelson, an 11-year criminal defense lawyer with Halberg Criminal Defense, a high-profile local firm.

Judge: Hennepin District Judge Daniel Mabley, a 20-year veteran of the bench and former prosecutor.

Jury: Will decide Senser's fate.

The charges

Each of the criminal vehicular homicide counts are weighted equally:

1. Leaving the scene

2. Failing to immediately call for help

3. Operating the vehicle in a grossly negligent manner, alleging she was on her cellphone at the time of the crash.
