The Minnesota Zoo has just added its coolest show of the summer: the Pretenders, with Cat Power and Juliette Lewis opening, on Aug 19. The concert is commanding the highest zoo ticket price ever -- $68. The previous high was $54 for Hootie and the Blowfish in 2008.

Chrissie Hynde and her Hall of Famer Pretenders, featuring ex-Minnesota guitarist Eric Heywood, thrilled a sell-out crowd at First Avenue in February, promoting their new CD, "Break Up the Concrete."

Cat Power, a bona fide headliner herself, filled First Ave in February 2008. The zoo concert will be a 7 p.m. start. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on June 13 at Ticketmaster outlets and the Electric Fetus.
