Sorry, indie-roots music fans. The Pines will not perform at Walker Art Center's popular Summer Music & Movies Monday night, as originally scheduled. The Minneapolis-based band cancelled "due to travel circumstances beyond their control," according to a post on the band's Facebook page (posted around noon Monday).

Bandleader David Huckfelt confirmed by e-mail that the Delta Airlines system outage was the reason for the band's cancellation. The Pines played over the weekend at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival 1,200 miles from Minneapolis in Alberta, Canada.

Luckily, the Honeydogs, another beloved Minneapolis band, was available for a last-minute fill-in. Honeydogs frontman Adam Levy and company will take the stage in Loring Park at 7 p.m. A screening of the 1988 film "Hairspray" will follow at approximately 8:45 p.m.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
