Animal Ark director says neutering program a success

The strategy of neutering and releasing feral cats is highly successful, says Mike Fry, executive director of Animal Ark. He took issue with the American Bird Conservancy (and this blog), which said that trap neuter release programs wreak havoc on birds and wildlife.

But the best point he makes is the one involving the photo of the feral cat colony that Animal Ark runs in Anoka. Even I was struck by how, well, er, plump the cats were in the photo. I thought maybe it was just their fur, but Fry says:

Good point!

He also disagrees with the American Conservancy's claims on the cats' impact on wildlife.
