As much of the Northeast prepares to dig out from a major winter storm, theweather pattern remains set up for another storm system to track across thecountry in the days leading up to Christmas.A low pressure system currently spinning off the West Coast of the UnitedStates will move through the Pacific Northwest early next week. It will thendive through the Rockies and take shape over the Plains around the middle ofthe week.
A significant snowfall appears likely from Montana through the high country ofWyoming and Colorado. Although a major event is not expected in Denver, therecould be enough snow to cause some minor travel disruptions. Snow will alsospread eastward into Nebraska, Kansas, and eventually the western Great Lakeslater in the week.
By the end of the week, the Eastern third of the country will deal with thestorm. It remains to early to tell whether the line separating rain and snowwill set up across the Mid-Atlantic states, or farther north across NewEngland. We will monitor this closely as it could arrive right beforeChristmas. Keep checking Accuweather.com for the latest information on thisstorm system.
