A stream of canoes will follow the St. Croix River from its headwaters in Wisconsin past Stillwater and Afton to celebrate the river's beauty and history. Here's the route, day by day, starting at Solon Springs, Wis.:

July 6: 17 miles on Upper St. Croix Lake to Gordon Dam.

July 7: 14 miles from County K Landing to Howell Landing, Wis., on the Namekagon River. (New leg because of low water on northern St. Croix.)

July 8: 20 miles to Riverside Landing on Namekagon

July 9: 10 miles to Danbury, Wis.

July 10: 20 miles to Norway Point Landing, Wis.

July 11: 14 miles, rapids to Governor Knowles Campground near Grantsburg, Wis.

July 12: 9 miles to County O Landing, Wis.

July 13: 9 miles to Sunrise Ferry Landing near North Branch

July 14: 8 miles to Nevers Dam Landing, Wis.

July 15: 9 miles to Taylors Falls and St. Croix Falls, Wis.

July 16: 16 miles past Osceola, Wis., to Marine on St. Croix

July 17: 12 miles to Stillwater, followed by day off river.

July 19: 8 miles to Hudson, Wis.

July 20: 6 miles to Afton

July 21: 8 miles to St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park

July 22: 4 miles to closing celebration on 17th day at Freedom Park in Prescott, Wis.
