It's easy to tell apart Republican gubernatorial hopefuls Marty Seifert and Tom Emmer.

Seifert is tall and bald. Emmer is slightly less tall, but has hair. It is not, however, easy to tell apart their convention campaign signs. When it came to choosing colors to represent their campaigns, both candidates opted for dark blue (okay, Seifert's signs are ever so slightly darker). In the battle for visual dominance on the convention floor, a casual glance reveals the big winner is – the color blue. It doesn't help visual scorekeepers that U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann's campaign signs are -- you guessed it – blue. So too are the signs for Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek. "You've got to go with yellow," said Senate Minority Leader Dave Senjem of Rochester. "That's what mine are. You can see them in the snow." The sign colors probably won't matter much Friday when the 2,100 delegates get to the real business of the convention: endorsing a gubernatorial candidate. The convention starts 9 a.m., with the first gubernatorial ballots starting in the early afternoon.
