A Force for good

J.J. Abrams continues to distance himself from "Star Wars" prequels; in a red-carpet interview with MTV, he says there will be no mention of the dread "midi-chlorians." He added that "Peter Jackson keeps calling and telling me, 'Make it four hours!' "

Expecto 'Imperium'

Daniel Radcliffe will go undercover in the FBI thriller "Imperium." … Woody Allen has cast his next (untitled, of course) film with Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll and Bruce Willis. It will be partly shot in Los Angeles, where Allen hasn't filmed since 1977's "Annie Hall."… Will Smith takes over for Hugh Jackman in "Collateral Beauty" alongside Rooney Mara. … The Coen brothers will write, and perhaps direct, an adaptation of Ross MacDonald's bestseller "Black Money."

Super sibling

Jenna Dewan-Tatum will be Lois Lane's sister in "Supergirl." … Max Von Sydow will assume the role of the Three-Eyed Raven on "Game of Thrones." … Hugh Dancy ("Hannibal") will star as a cult leader in the Hulu series "The Way," from creator Jason Katims ("Friday Night Lights," "Parenthood"). … James Franco plays twins with ties to the 1970s porn industry in the HBO series "The Deuce." … "Empire" creator Lee Daniels is working on another Fox drama about the rise of a female singing group. … Uzo Aduba ("Orange Is the New Black") and Amber Riley ("Glee") join the cast of NBC's live "The Wiz."

School's out forever

Joel McHale confirms the sixth season of "Community," which moved to Yahoo after being canceled by NBC, was its last. "All the actors on the show, almost without exception, their stock has risen significantly, and it's out of the pay rate that is affordable to make the show," he said. "So you're not going to be able to get Alison Brie or Gillian Jacobs at a normal television salary anymore." We're thinking Yahoo could at least afford to bring back Chevy Chase.

Who's laughing now?

Jamie Lee Curtis says she ruined so many takes of "A Fish Called Wanda" by laughing that "Kevin Kline won't speak to me to this day."
