'Alone' again

That song from the movie you'd never heard of? In a highly unusual move, "Alone Yet Not Alone," from the movie of the same name, has had its Oscar nomination rescinded because composer Bruce Broughton used his role as a former head of the Academy's music branch to influence voters.

But can he save his show?

NBC has halted production on "Sean Saves the World." The network also has ordered comedy pilots starring Rob Lowe and Jason Bateman and another produced by Ellen DeGeneres. … Jonathan Banks (pictured) will be back as Mike Ehrmantraut in AMC's "Breaking Bad" prequel "Better Call Saul." … The Emmys will be awarded on Aug. 25, a Monday (really!), to avoid competing with the NFL. Or is it the only day that fits into Neil Patrick Harris' schedule?

2-minute drill

Theater owners have released voluntary guidelines calling for trailers to be no more than two minutes long, and specifying that a trailer cannot be shown earlier than five months before a film's release. … A documentary on the New York Review of Books could be a snoozer, but Martin Scorsese will be sure to find some conflict.

Macklemore or less

Even Macklemore thought Macklemore won too many Grammys. He texted Kendrick Lamar after last Sunday's ceremony: "You got robbed [for best rap album]. I wanted you to win. … I robbed you. I was gonna say that … Then the music started playing during my speech and I froze."

Tangled up in moolah

Bob Dylan will appear at the Super Bowl — in the commercials, that is. "I Want You" will accompany a Chobani yogurt ad, and the man himself will shill for Chrysler.
