Saving Grace

Living near the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres must be rubbing off on James Denton. The former "Desperate Housewives" stud, who moved to the Twin Cities suburbs a few year ago, stars in "Grace Unplugged," based on the musical drama about a Christian girl who sees Jesus as the ultimate "American Idol" judge.

6 p.m. Sunday, UP

Just warming up

Before taking each other on in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," DC's most popular heroes had hassles all their own. Henry Cavill is fine in 2013's "Man of Steel" (7 p.m. Sunday, FX), but the hands-down winner in this preliminary round is Christian Bale who keeps his cool (barely) against Heath Ledger's Joker in 2008's "The Dark Knight" (9 p.m. Sunday, MTV).

I'll drink to that

Detectives have long used booze to lubricate their deducing muscles, but Sam Spade and Jessica Jones may have to take a back bar stool to Rev. Sidney Chambers (the devilishly handsome James Norton), the collar-wearing hero of "Grantchester," which returns for a second season. This time around, the vicar must battle charges of sexual assault and an apparent suicide with Cold War overtones, all while making sure nobody steals from his supply of sacramental whiskey.

8 p.m. Sunday, TPT, Ch. 2

Where the boys are

Any documentary about Florida's time-honored tribute to debauchery is certain to have flashes of bare-breasted coeds, but "Spring Broke" is more of a business story, diligently recording how greedy hotels, tobacco companies and MTV all prospered — and then suffered — under the weight of too many keg parties. The fast-paced film, directed by Alison Elwood, cleverly employs "Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous" host Robin Leach as tour guide.

8 p.m. Friday, Showtime

Neal Justin

James Denton, who played Mike the Plumber on "Desperate Housewives," has moved to Twin Cities to support his sister-in-law who is battling breast cancer. The profits of the t-shirt he is wearing and designed will go towards fighting breast cancer.
