The 2012 Gift Guide: Giving MN

When you give a gift created by a local artist or craftsperson, you're giving more than just a useful or attractive object — you're giving a story. It may be about someone who got tired of working in an office, or got laid off from a job. Someone who noticed a void in the market. Someone who created an item for herself and kept getting requests from friends. Someone who wanted to reuse materials that were being discarded. These are all people who saw an opportunity to use their skills and go after a dream. When you give a gift by a local creator, you're giving a little piece of that dream.
