February is officially the Month of Speculation. In baseball, there are countless prognostications already about where teams will finish in the standings. NFL mock drafts are coming fast and furious, and the information/misinformation only figures to intensify with the Scouting Combine starting next week. The NHL and NBA, meanwhile, are in full swing with trade deadlines. Throw in college football recruiting at the start of the month and NCAA hoops bracket projections and this is a short, guess-heavy month.

One guess that caught our eye, though: That Kevin Garnett could be dealt before the NBA deadline next week. SI.com has that bit of speculation, writing this:

Garnett's no-trade clause could complicate a possible deal before next week's trading deadline — and he's reportedly not interested in a buyout. But if Brooklyn (currently on a three-game losing streak) continues to toil away at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, it's possible to imagine Garnett accepting a trade to reunite with Doc Rivers in Los Angeles or latch onto another one of the Western Conference powers.

Garnett has always been loyal, but we're not sure how far that loyalty extends to Brooklyn — his third NBA team, and not one he chose. He already has a ring, so he doesn't have to chase another one. But a reunion with Rivers out in LA does make a certain amount of sense.
