Joe Mauer haterzzz love to mention his contract every time he fails at the plate. At the risk of providing those folks even more ammunition, we found this nugget in an SI.com piece on the "Fortunate 50," the 50 biggest earners among U.S. athletes this year. Mauer is the only Minnesotan on the list, coming in at No. 12 overall. But it's not just his $23 million salary. Per SI:

Mauer's endorsement income has grown by more than $2 million since last year, thanks to relationships with Head & Shoulders, Gatorade, and Sony.

Indeed, he is reportedly taking in $2.75 million in endorsements this season. And his scalp? It looks terrific.
