TFD: Analogy time. The Twins' chances of winning the AL Central are like ...

Manship Friday. Greinke Saturday. Verlander Sunday. Two down with three to play. Whaddya say?

The Twins certainly face an uphill battle in the AL Central. That said, today's 8-3 victory -- hardly perfect, with the team making four errors and Jose Mijares nearly sparking the first bench-clearing brawl between teammates -- at least keeps things relevant for a minimum of one more day.

Jake Peavy hurls for the ChiSox against Detroit; Jeff Manship has hardly been one to inspire confidence, but he'll get the ball Friday and we'll see if the Twins can coax some good innings out of him and beat the Royals. Honestly, the Twins need to cut it to one game tomorrow. And, realistically, they could. After that? Greinke for the Royals on Saturday; Verlander for the Tigers on Sunday. Will the last regular-season game at the Dome mean something? Will they defy the odds and squeeze at least one more game out of the old building in a one-game playoff?
