Teen mom found at Wright County park died of gunshot wounds

A 19-year-old mother who was found at a park entrance in Wright County and died days later was the victim of gunshot wounds, authorities said Monday night.

Also Monday, law enforcement said it has arrested six people on suspicion of having something to do with killing Cheyenne Clough, of Buffalo.

Clough died Saturday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale from "multiple gunshot wounds," the Hennepin County medical examiner's office said in a statement.

Five of the suspects in Clough's death were apprehended in Koochiching County near the Canadian border, according to the Sheriff's Office. Two of them, Justin M. Jensen, 28, of Maple Lake, and Natasha L. Brandenburger, 33, of Buffalo, had their names and photos widely distributed by Wright County authorities soon after Clough was discovered Wednesday on the ground and unresponsive at Crow Springs Park in Franklin Township.

Jensen was held on a drug allegation, while Brandenburger was accused of aiding an offender. The others detained in the same county were a 19-year-old Twin Cities woman on a weapons allegation, a 21-year-old Twin Cities man accused of aiding an offender and a 26-year-old International Falls man accused of obstructing the legal process.

Jailed on Sunday after a traffic stop in Staples in central Minnesota was a 26-year-old man from Buffalo.

Charges have yet to be filed against any of those arrested.

Wright County Sheriff's Capt. Todd Hoffman said Clough was acquainted with Jensen and Brandenburger before the assault.

Hoffman said he was unsure whether any of the suspects were attempting to flee the country.

Still unaccounted for is a car associated with Jensen. Authorities are looking for a 2008 white- or cream-colored Honda Accord with Minnesota license plates 307LCX.

Clough, the mother of a 3-year-old son, was last seen at a residence in the 200 block of Birch Avenue NW. in Maple Lake, according to the Sheriff's Office.

A friend, Becky Layne, described Clough on Monday as a "good momma [who] had a bubbly personality and smile. That little boy means the world to her, and so did her friends."
