A 15-year-old girl was killed late Saturday night in Winona County when she was ejected from a car and then run over, according to the State Patrol.

Gao Jer Vang of La Crosse, Wis., was riding in the back seat of a Toyota RAV4 when the driver fell asleep while heading east on I-90 in New Hartford Township near mile marker 271. The vehicle left the road and rolled over.

Vang, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the Toyota onto the road. She was struck by an eastbound Ford Fusion driven by Leaann Carol Bohn, 48, of Onalaska, Wis. Bohn wasn't injured.

Another passenger in the Toyota, Nhia Thao, 17, sustained noncritical injuries. Thao is also from La Crosse.

The names and conditions of the Toyota's driver and another male passenger were not listed on the State Patrol website. Both of the 16-year-old males were taken to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
