A teenage driver struck a bridge abutment early Thursday while driving west on Hwy. 610 in Maple Grove and died at the scene, the State Patrol said.
The male driver, 19, from northwest suburb of Dayton, was the lone occupant of the Ford Taurus that crashed and caught fire about 3:25 a.m. at the interchange of Hwy. 610 and Hemlock Lane, said Lt. Gordon Shank.
The patrol did not release the man's name.
The westbound lanes of Hwy. 610 were closed at Zachary Lane for about three hours. They reopened about 7:15 a.m.
