July 18, 2017 at 12:54AM

A teenager was killed and found along the side of a road in Fridley overnight, authorities said. No arrests have been made.

The body of 17-year-old Mohanned Abdul Hafiz Abukhdeir was discovered by police about 1:15 a.m. Monday along the 7600 block of Meadowmoor Drive NE., to the southeast of the intersection of Central Avenue and Osborne Road, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. Abukhdeir lived nearby.

A Sheriff's Office statement did not say how Abukhdeir was killed, only that "the manner of death indicates foul play."

"This is still a very active investigation that is in its early stages," the statement continued. "There is very little information that we will be releasing at this point, but there will be updates as events warrant."
