Teddy Bridgewater as Brooks from 'Shawshank Redemption' is worth your time

An animated short puts Teddy Bridgewater out of captivity, and back into the real world - just like a certain inmate from Shawshank State Penitentiary.

Dear fellas: I can't believe how fast things move on the outside.

So begins a letter from Brooks to his former inmate friends at Shawshank State Penitentiary shortly after he's released and realizes life outside prison walls is no picnic. The scene from 1994's 'Shawshank Redemption' is a classic.

It's also the inspiration for the latest animated Gridiron Heights short from the folks at Bleacher Report, in which a healthy Teddy Bridgewater leaves fellow injured NFLers Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, J.J. Watt, Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall stuck at Gridiron Hospital.

It's a brilliant 1-minute video that you should watch a few times to pick up on the many subtle background gags (like Deshaun Watson arriving in an ambulance, a promotional poster for AFC Fight Night and the engravings on the park bench).

Do enjoy.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
