There are three winless teams in the NFL, and the Vikings are not among them. Rejoice, purple fans! While you are at it, give thanks that the QB situation here isn't as awkward as the one in Denver. We'll tackle both items and more as we take our weekly spin around the NFL:

• Broncos coach John Fox told reporters Monday that he hasn't decided who his starting QB will be next week, but that he will announce his decision Tuesday after looking at game film.

We'll save him the trouble: Tim Tebow will be named the team's starting quarterback Tuesday. OK, that's just a hunch. But unless Fox wants the entire state of Colorado to descend upon him with the fury of a Rocky Mountain blizzard, now is the time to make the switch. Tebow had a 101.7 passer rating, a passing TD and a rushing TD in nearly sparking a Broncos comeback victory over San Diego. Orton is 6-21 in his past 27 starts with the Broncos going back to 2009.

Tebow is unorthodox. The notion that he's a "winner" is overblown. That said, the Broncos spent a first-round pick on him in 2010. There is no reason for Denver to wait any longer to see what he can do.

• We've assumed for a while that Miami was the front-runner in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. The Dolphins have a massive QB need and an incredible will to lose. But wouldn't it be crazy if the Colts — still winless, just like the Dolphins — parlayed their Peyton-less season into the No. 1 pick?

The last time the Colts picked first, of course, was 1998 when they grabbed Manning. That was preceded by the 1997 season, when the Colts finished 3-13 and used three different starting QBs: Jim Harbaugh, Paul Justin and Kelly Holcomb. This year's duo of Kerry Collins and Curtis Painter might seem downright competent by comparison, but don't rule out the Colts in the Luck race. The Rams — who have no QB need with Sam Bradford in the fold — are the other winless team.

• From bad to worse for the Texans: Not only did Matt Schaub throw the worst pass in the history of the NFL to clinch their loss to the Raiders, but now star defensive lineman Mario Williams is out for the season because of a torn pectoral muscle. Can you imagine how it feels to tear a pec? Also, Andre Johnson might miss another game. It's always too good to be true for Houston.

• Speaking of pectoral muscles, Tarvaris Jackson strained one Sunday and couldn't finish the game (this might sound familiar, Vikings fans). He isn't expected to practice this week, though the Seahawks have a bye. Backup Charlie Whitehurst played well in relief, and a new QB controversy could be brewing.

• The Madden video game jinx is alive and well. This year's cover player, Browns RB Peyton Hillis, already has missed a game with strep throat and is surely not making any friends in Cleveland by saying he's worried about his contract situation.
