TCF branch in Arden Hills may be latest target of man in black

Authorities say there may be a serial bank robber working in the Twin Cities, a man with a gun who dresses in black from head to toe.

The latest holdup occurred early Sunday afternoon at the TCF Bank at 1160 W. County Road E, just west of Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills, according to the FBI.

The man demanded cash, at times pointing his handgun at bank employees and a customer, the FBI said.

Once he had the money, he left in a cream-colored Mitsubishi Galant.

The suspect, as in recent robberies in the south metro, is described as white and about 5 feet 10 inches tall. His shoes, pants, gloves, as well as a mask and a hooded sweatshirt, were all black.

Last week, the same man may have been responsible for trying to hold up the Richfield Bloomington Credit Union at 4025 W. Old Shakopee Road. The suspect, however, didn't get any money.

The same suspect is thought to be responsible for a holdup Nov. 4 at the First National Bank of the Lakes in the 6600 block of Penn Avenue S.

Anyone with information about any of these robberies is urged to call the FBI at 612-376-3200.
