Delays reaching a financial agreement on Target Center renovations have halted work of the committee focused on the project.
The city's development chief, Jeremy Hanson Willis, told Target Center implementation committee members in an e-mail Tuesday that they would not meet again until there is a deal between the city and the Timberwolves. The committee was slated to hold its fourth meeting this week.
"We realize that it has taken longer than some might have expected for this agreement to be reached, as it is an essential milestone for the overall project to move forward," Hanson Willis wrote.
Cost disputes between the team and the city have held up the renovation, which was made possible by the Vikings stadium bill, since last year.
First, the total size of the proposed renovations dropped from $150 million to $100 million. Then the team said the city unexpectedly changed the ratio of public to private dollars that would be required.
