Tappers for Christmas

Ricci Milan has been asked for years if his touring song-and-dance ensemble, the Rhythmic Circus, does anything for the holidays. For years he's told them, "Yes, we have a Christmas party." What the art presenters wanted, however, was a show. This year, the Twin Cities-based troupe has converted its annual holiday party into an onstage extravaganza featuring four tap dancers and a seven-piece swing band. The "Red and Green" tour is hitting six states this December, and stops in Burnsville this weekend to make its hometown debut. Highlights include a soft-shoe duet to "Baby, It's Cold Outside," and the craziest Rudolph that Milan says you'll ever see. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat., Ames Center, 12600 Nicollet Av. S., Burnsville. $32.50-$62.50. 952-895-4685 or ames-center.com). REBECCA RITZEL

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
