Taking the morning sun

Finally, no crows to deal with

The Great Horned Owl I often see when birding land near our home was quietly taking the sun this morning. He was in his usual roosting place in a tall pine with a window facing east. Often I located the bird by the whirling, jawing flock of crows that bother the owl whenever they can find him. The owl is always in the same place, though, finding it no problem. That makes wonder if the crows are not harassing the owl just for the hell of it, with nothing better to do at the moment.
